LEARN THE RECIPE FOR STARTING A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS For the first time ever, founder of Sprinkles cupcakes, Candace Nelson, is sharing the recipe for success in her new book, Sweet Success. She will walk you through the steps she took to build a globally beloved brand, so you can do it too. Although she deals in frosting, there’s no sugarcoating here. Candace pushes back the kitchen door to reveal mistakes, misses, and lessons learned the…

All I need are sweet dreams, some sweet tea and Candance Nelson’s, Sweet Success! I have listened to her audiobook on Libro.fm twice now, and will probably refer back to it at different points in my business journey. It is full of ingredients needed to get any business up and running. Using her own experience as a career changer, following her passion, she leads readers through her journey starting out in her own kitchen, to preparing for exiting and selling her business. Although, there is information in her book for any entrepreneur, I feel that she is really speaking to women entrepreneurs, especial in the food industry.

Being a woman entrepreneur in the book industry layered with services in the food industry, I found this book highly relatable. Just as it was recommended to me by member of our book club, I would also recommend it to any one thinking about starting their own business. Nelson starts off by getting into finding your passion and applying your experience to using your “flow.” When you get there you create your purpose and mission that you will follow in your business. This she points out will keep you going in your business, especially when things get hard. There are so many great tips and advice from Nelson, that you will want to make notes as you read. Make sure to go back and answer the questions she poses for you to get where you need to be.

Although, her success looks amazing and unattainable on hindsight, she does not sugar coat her experience. She tells it how it is and this is what I really appreciate about her book. Working through our fears, doubts and failures, is what will make us grow and succeed in our mission as entrepreneurs.
