Books and Chocolates

Friends at Pages Books on the Green

Our first Bookstore visit was to Pages Books on the Green in the town of Windsor. This bookstore sits in a cute town center wrapped around the Windsor Town Green Park. There are many cute shops, restaurants and bars all nearby. When you walk in there are just enough books to not overwhelm and the quaint size makes this bookshop stop a nice one for when you are pressed for time. Of course, I had to pick up a few new books for my little one, my kitchen, and just for my own pleasure reading!

If you are in the area, make sure you stop by the Fleur Sauvage Chocolate Shop! They are right around the corner from the bookstore. We couldn’t help ourselves, we had to share a delectable mousse dessert at the shop and of course, buy a box of chocolates! Book hunting can be so SWEET!

It was wonderful to be there on their second day open and I got say hello to Pastry Chef Robert Nieto, who I had the short pleasure of working with at the Kendall Jackson Estate Gardens. This visit brought back some wonderful memories of working with all of the kitchen team at KJ! Before even starting a part-time gig there, I was gifted their collaborated cookbook, Season: a year of wine country food, farming, family and friends. In this book you will find some amazing flavor combinations with beautiful captivating food photography.

We have rosemary growing in our garden year-round, and I love how it goes with chocolate, especially when paired with a nice red wine.
